How We Work

NDB Ltd was formed in 2004 to fill in the gap in the way external resources are provided to the oil and gas industry. The directors believe that it is possible to fully engage with client projects without the high cost of current full service providers. We now provide other Petrotechnical and IT support services to the upstream oil and gas industry, as well as major programme management and implementation services across a wider community.

Our aim is to deliver a business focused successful project with ISO quality deliverymethods at competitive prices.

Our background has been with oil and gas services and we have developed a Managed Service Delivery (MSD) process for our onsite staff that challenges and stimulates better understanding of need and facilities a more effective utilisation of the resource. We don't sell software and have no affiliations with particular solutions:independence, flexibility and low cost are allowing us to grow our client base 50% in 2008.

NDB Directors have on average 20 years experience in the Professional Services businessin the upstream oil and gas market and have probably made every mistake in the consultancybook. The key to success is to learn something from those mistakes and we thinkwe have an honest approach. We work a business model with an ultimate aim to buildtrust with clients. Trust is earned through repeated timely and consistent resultsfrom more transactional engagements. As Business issues become wider and more complex,the value of a Trust Based Relationship is higher.

NDB Rules of Engagement

  1. When we don't know, we'll try not to pretend otherwise.
  2. We need your engagement throughout and will not jump to ready-made solutions, tempting as they are.
  3. We will attempt to prove our value to your organisation by: peer-reviewing and coaching the work of our colleagues, by planning Quarterly Performance Reviews and by ensuring that more expensive resources are withdrawn when their work is done.
  4. When we're done, we're done. Our job is not to take over an operational role.

The MSD process looks like common sense but the temptation to jump to a solutionor to properly measure its impact are the two major causes of project failure wehave experienced.

Moreover, NDB works by providing ongoing peer review with the consultant. This meansthat with client agreement, NDB can contribute team expertise in support of theindividual and become an active back-office contributor to the project.
