  • BG Group benchmark of outsourced services:

    The BG Group has outsourced the provision of petrotechnical services, applications, data management and technical infrastructure provision for the head office and the growing number of offices in remote locations. The contract stipulates a benchmark study after two years of operation to test the level of cost effectiveness and the quality of the service. The benchmark study answered these questions and provided recommendations for both the client and the supplier which aim to deliver more value from the service.
  • BP Azerbaijan audit of data framework:

    Audit the data management framework for the BP Azerbaijan business unit (AzBU). The AzBU recognises a dependency on the quality of its data for the life of field and to support split site working. The study provided a view on what has been achieved so far and how the programme needs to move forwards in order to support the AzBU need.
  • BP outsourced services transition:

    Programme management of outsourced services transition. BP transitioned between outsourced service suppliers for data management for the six largest sites around the world during 2005. The new service provider, based on a consortium of three key E&P service organisations, offered a service based around a level of off-shoring. The programme manager ensured that there was a joint terms of reference for the project between BP and the suppliers and guided the successful delivery meeting time and budget targets with no reported disruptions to operations.
  • ConocoPhilips document and records compliance assessment:

    Document and records compliance assessment. ConocoPhilips has a directive to ensure that all company records and documents are effectively managed from a legal, operational and a cost effectiveness perspective. The North Sea Business Unit required an assessment of the quality and quantity of records and documents and recommendations for the required activities required to bring them into compliance. The assessment and subsequent recommendations included technical data held in technical databases as well as hardcopy and even samples.
  • Encana (now Nexen) procurement software implementation:

    Encana wished to implement the ProCon software package in order to allow them to improve their contractual relationships with their key suppliers. Implementation project looked at bespoke requirements and change management needs for the London and Aberdeen sites.
  • UK National Health Service

    As part of the £40bn new IT roll out within the UK's National Health Service, NDB is contracted to supply fulltime Programme Management troubleshooting to this challenging suite of projects. Operating with some of the top project managers in the business, we are recognised experts in the field of pragmatic and plain speaking advice, mentoring across the individual projects and proving value witnessed by an extended contract into 2007. The National Programme for IT (NPfIT), is the largest civil change programme currently underway in the world, successfully delivered several senior consultancy assignments:
    • Developed and established the national component of the Programme governance regime.
    • Managed a coordination team of senior supplier representatives to identify and resolve major cross-programme and cross-supplier issues, and spread best-practice across the Programme.
    • Managed a major part of the Choose and Book component of the Programme through the complex development phases.
    • Developed a national standard for defining the implementation lifecycle and negotiated with suppliers and NHS Clusters for its adoption across the Programme.
    • Interim management role as Programme Controls Manager for the CfH Central Technology Office.
    • Central Implementation Management role supporting NHS Clusters and Trusts in deployment of the NPfIT solutions.

Work for Undisclosed Companies

Managing 'Third Party' Delivery - NDB provided the interface between our E&Pclient and their IT service provider in order to help both companies achieve a successfulprocess and systems implementation. This was both a cost effective and timely solution.

  • Technical Process Definition

    NDB provided an analysis of business processes in order to define an effective software portfolio. The technical processes were built on the chosen applications and data types, supporting the business process. We delivered best in class business processes that lead to an increased number of successful project sanctions.
  • Interim Services Director

    NDB worked with a fast growing software company, specializing in web-based ERP systems, to provide interim program management for a number of E&P client implementations in the UK and in Asia.
  • Design and Implementation of a Project Office for a Large UK Independent

    Previous to the project office, technical projects were not subject to standardised process of proving business value and of delivery quality. Pioneered the use of project office tools to automate tasks.
  • NDB is working with a large multinational to audit the value of their IM departments. The role of NDB is to challenge the current strategy of keeping everything in-house and to compare against peer companies. It is the expectation that by having an optimised IM function, the improved value to the business gives competitive advantage.
